Bad luck, I won't be able to make it this week. :-(  I don't like Hungary
anyway...  roll on Monza, Indy, Suzuka!

Which exe will you be using?  NoCD or standard?  If noCD, does it use the
same name as the normal exe or is it something like F1xxxxxxnoCD.exe?  I'm
pretty sure F1RST requires the exe's to match, so I need to know before the
race starts.

Sorry for leaving you last two all alone - suspension was more bent than a
hairdresser ;)

I'm not sure why but my problem was hitting an extra downshift. I did it at
T1L1 and scared myself to death. Was ok then for a while then did it again
and caused some damage. I guess counting quickly from 7 to 2 backwards is
not my forte. Wheel checks out ok - just brain farting on my part. Wasn't
doing it during practice - weird. I was quite pleased with my qual - 16.3 in
the Jag with no aids is good for me.

Anyway .... thanks for organising it Eldred. Surprised more weren't there.
The online experience in F1C seems pretty good once you get used to it. With
a full field with guys of different pace (so everyone's got someone to race
with) it should be really great. As I am one of those with a doubled up car,
I was worried about depriving someone else of a place ;)

C'mon in you guys - the water's fine :)

Regards

I had fun.  I messed up on the start and had to go into the dirt at T1 to
avoid hitting one of the Ferraris.  Then eventually made it to first place
after first through third had offs.  Held onto it for a couple laps and then
spun and broke off the front wing and RF wheel.  Not sure why I spun, I have
never spun at that section of track before.  But I also did not have much
practice at full fuel load, and then I found out I left OE running in the
background.  Most likely OE was refreshing when I spun.  <kicks self>
Anyway it was still fun while it lasted and I hope I can make the next one.
Thanks for hosting, Eldred.

Well in case anyone else wanted to know, it doesn't matter.  If it's not the
same exe you just get a warning but you can still race.

I think it had to be the full fuel load that got me also.  Couldnt drive the
thing so dam hvy.

It was kinda strange yesterday while practicing on E's server.  I was
somehow turning 1.12's consistently.  Before yesterday my PB was 1.17and
today at practice I was in the 18's.  Any ideas of how/why this was
happening?  I was thinkin it was cause I practiced on the RH2003 track that
may have had some small diffs from the 02 track but todays times were much
closer to reality on the 02 track.  Could it be offline-online differneces?

  Could it be offline-online differneces?

Could be Mitch. I did an online race yesterday on the 2003RH. It definitely
felt different today although I was in the BAR yesterday. However, if it's a
choice between a sim idiosyncrasy and my personal stupidity, I fear I know
which is the more likely ;) I guess the best thing about the RAS series is
that we got a chance to iron out these weirdies before getting into serious
stuff.

I have that problem too.  Does F1C have a config file
entry for neutral or reverse lockout?  Perhaps allowing
them only when the car is stopped?

I've been doing alot of online racing using F1C's Gamespy
facility, and I'm becoming skilled at getting out of people's
way under the blue flag.

It's amazing to watch a car I'm breaking to avoid burst
forward 10 car lengths, or just ping out of existence.  And
evading a spun car while someone else just drives through it
with no apparent ill effects is also fun to watch.  My
favorite is the cars floating 20 feet in the air above the
starting grid at the race start.  Another good one is having
myself and two other cars share the same starting grid
position.

You don't see that on Speedvision.

Are you treated to such sites when racing on a host that
has a high speed connection to the Internet?

How far flung are your drivers?  Can people from the other
side of the world compete smoothly?  I'm wondering how much
of these anomalies are caused by the inevitable pings, and
how much is caused by the limits of cable modems.

Anyway, I'm still waiting for a race replay file for one
of your events.  That would tell me a lot about whether I
should offer my services as a backmarker.

If you can send me a replay please post here, or email
me first, I don't need 22 replay files in my mailbox.  I've
read that the smoothest replays are captured by the host,
with the replay quality set to "Full", but I'd appreciate
a replay file from anyone.

   Today's Hungor

                                                    Thanks

There was some nice racing there for awhile. I screwed up with my setup
though. I had the setup wrong for most of qualifying, then added front wing
which dropped my time and made the car handle MUCH better. Forgot to make
the front wing change to the race setup though, and so struggled with
understeer, especially through the s section.

I somehow got the reverse lockout thing working.  I believe all I had to do
was assign a button to neutral.  Once I did that the downshift button would
not go below 1st.  If I want reverse I have to hit the neutral button first,
and then from reverse I have to hit neutral before I can get back into
first.  Somewhat annoying, but has undoubtedly saved my ass a few times.
Now if I could just lock out 1st.  ;o)

To be that much faster I'd think you probably had the "speed bug". Leaving
and reconnecting usually fixes it.
