GP Manager - Crap!!

I have had Gp manager for about 3 weeks now and find that it is so
full of bugs that it makes it unplayable.  The game is full of
inconsistences, buying new equipment makes no difference, drivers seem
to make no difference, i.e an unknown rookie out races and qualifies
Martin Brundle.  The game is full of annoying bugs like when pitting
during the race, the game sometimes does not allow you to refuel or
re-tyre the car.  Your engineers give you advise on setups which seems
to be contrary to the top teams.  Testing times are not reflected in
the race, i.e you can break the record in testing and then not come
anywhere near it in qualifying.  Car weight is not correctly
calculated and I have actually found that a car with very basic but
lighter parts will run faster than a car with high-tech heavier parts.
Therefore whats the point in updating the car when the basic car
appears to be quicker.  I have also found that the on screen speed is
not reflected in the lap times.  This is particularly evident in
qualifying, cars that appear to run at similar speeds, show up on the
lap times as being seconds appart.  I have had occasion when I have
had pole position midway through the qualifying session, only to find
that at the end of qualifiying that my times have changed for the
worse? - this is unacceptable.  Even worse is to be competitive one
race and then the next be 10 seconds of the pace.

It's a shame because its well presented and the options are thorough
and exciting, but also redundant because changing them does not seem
to make a difference.  I feel robbed because I am unable to play the
game knowing that it is so inconsistent.  I hope Microprose recognise
that failings in this product and quickly bring an update out.

Your engineers give you advise on setups which seems

The top (or any other) teams are not running the same chassis, wings,
or engines that you are, so it would stand to reason that your setup
would be different. Your engineers only can give you data based on how
they think the car will react on the track. It still comes down to you
setting wing angles and such....and I can tell you that you have to do
major experimentation on those angles. Sometimes, the correct angle is
outside the parameters the enginneer and wind tunnel tell you, and one
degree up or down can mean 5 seconds or more a lap. All I can tell
you, is test, test, test, and keep a log of your settings at each
track for you race the next year. Those settings will be a bit
different each time you visit a track, because you usually have
different equipment on the car each year.

I agree that some of the bugs are annoying, but, hey, it's a game, and
hopefully there will be some fixes on the way. I just hope it's not a
portent of what is to come with F1GP2.
