I think the big problem is that people keeping wanting a release date and then
are disappointed when that date is not met. I think the best thing is not to
mention a release date (unless you are Microsoft and want to keep people from
buying another product while they wait only a few years to get Microsoft's).

We know it's coming. Stop whinning. It will be ready when it's ready. If you
can't wait that long buy something else. Everything else is just speculation.

I kinda agree with Bob here. Good things come to those who wait.
I've just recently started to check up on GP2 and looked around some
of the websites. WOW! I am busting myself, getting ready to get a
piece of this sim. Although I'd like to sink my T2 into GP2 *NOW*, I
think we should all patiently wait for Geoff to say it's ready.
Besides, after everyone has waited this long, what's another month?

Another month seems to last forever at microprose.
They even have the nerve to advertise with there 'vapour-ware' in my
computer-mag already.

Buying a Playstation plus a projection TV is also cheaper then upgrading
to Pentium with 32MB RAM and a 17" (only) monitor. Wake up! Microprose!

another month or two means Playstation's F1 game will come out(with 1995
tracks and drivers),and another month or two means it "might" come out
for PC(well,they did it with Wipeout and Destruction Derby and some other
game),by then GP2 will be competing against this product with it's 1994
tracks and driver......,put the game play aside 'cause we don't know
anything about either of them,but as far as I can tell,the Playstation's
game has much smoother graphics compare with those ultra large pixels of
gp2....(at least this was what I saw from the gp2 quick-time movie and
pictures in various mags)
and one last thing,buying a Playstation is(so far) cheaping then upgrading
to pentium with 32meg ram and a diamond stealth vram 2meg etc.

No offense Bob, but here in Australia, we learn very quickly to set realistic
goals. You would think that a company such as Microprose would have learned to
do that. If they set a release date, then that is the date it WILL be ready
by. Already they have failed to meet not one, but THREE deadlines. The delay
is beyond a joke when you look at the first projected date. Either it was 90%
wishful thinking, or they really stuffed up.

I think we are all eager to see the game and I think honesty is an important
aspect of business. When faced with a buggy game that needs work, then set a
real date. Tell us it wont be ready till Xmas 96 and get it over and done
with. If by some chance they can release earlier, well that's a bonus! But by
not releasing an accurate date, a lot of people who may have been keen to go
to a PSX, may have waited the little while (remember that originally they
claimed to have found a bug, but it should be ready by January 15th...Then it
was middle March, late March, middle April, late April, and now it is early
May. Yes Microprose....we believe you...and aliens flew done to earth and gave
you a lolly.

All I want, all I have ever wanted, was the truth up front. Even now, if the
game is released soon, I will only buy it on the proviso that I can return it
if it is unsatisfactory. If the game does not run like a dream on a P90, then
it is going back.

So it may be! But I am wondering if you can get a T2 or other wheel and
pedal combos working on a playstation. I have not seen much about the
play station but I would not like to be driving a F1 car with the usuall
controllers that they come with.

Hi,
Playstation has a wheel/pedal combo joystick too,I've seen it in a mag,
although it doesn't look as impressive as the T2....
anyway,the mag also mentioned that before this wheel/combo was out,some
people in HongKong claimed to have "modified" the T2 for playstation
use too,don't ask me how they did it...
BTW I agreed that driving a F1 car with a controll pad really sucks.
