I was at the local arcade with my two boys this weekend and we all jumped
into a racing game head to head called "Rush the Rock - Alcatraz
Edition".  What a blast!

This thing was as close to GPL as anything I've seen with regards to
physics and force feedback.  IMO it felt more realistic than Nascar3 or
Rally Championship...

How can this be?  I thought arcade games weren't supposed to be so good!

Rush the Rock is produced by Midway Games if anyone is interested.
There's a pic at http://www.racesimcentral.net/;I
guess they're actually hooking cities together for on-line tournaments
with a project called WaveNet.

If you get out to the arcade you owe yourself a race with this one.  You
won't regret it.  It's a lot of fun :)

Hehe...a friend of mine and me were at the local MiniGold/Sunsplash last
summer...

When we got sick of all the slides and played a round of minigolf...

I swear we spent $20 each at that machine!!  It's really good fun (and the
only one I've seen with a CLUTCH!!!!  Lots of fun stuff there, i.e. spin
saves, cheap shots...)

Didn't "hard driving" have a clutch? as well as an ignition key!

8-)

..not to mention one of the first games with Force Feedback... :)
I don't remember if you could start the Ferrari with the clutch up or not...
I found one at the Computer Museum here in Boston about a year ago,
quarter-disabled but a little worse for wear --the shift knob was gone and
the
screen looked kinda harsh....  :)
