Nightmares Return: The Dreaded F1C Freeze

by J.R. » Thu, 12 Feb 2004 19:15:08

That's right, guys. My F1C is once again freezing randomly. And this time,
I'm sure I have no idea why.

I rolled back to NVidia 45.23 drivers, I have 23% free space on my hard
drive (80Gig HDD) and I have defragged it. I installed my soudn card and
motherboard drivers again, and I am totally stumped:

- P4 2.53GHz
- 1024MB DDR-RAM
- Sound Blaster Audigy 2
- G4 Ti4600
- ASUS P4PE motherboard (845PE Chipset)

Regards,
J.R.

Hows the video card temp? I had a fan fail and that created lock-ups. Dust
build up might cause the same thing.

didn't the solution have something to do with turning down the hardware
accleration one notch.  (I can't remember if it was sound or video)  run
dxdiag.exe and move the slider down for each and see if that helps.
