I've got XP and it gives me that evil "Not supported on NT" error message.
Any suggestions (that won't cost me any money)? :)

I don't have C2, but from a look around Google I'd say you're out of
luck - even the unofficial XP Windows Application Compatibility
Service:
http://www.racesimcentral.net/
isn't very helpful:
"Carmageddon 2: Carpocalypse Now 2.0
Unfortionatly[sic] the best version of the Carmageddon series is
incompatable with NT/2000/XP, even in compatability mode."
Apparently version 1.0 of Carma 2 will run if the copy protection is
removed, but I have no idea how to do that, and even if I did have
there's the ***y DMCA to worry about (which doesn't apply to us in
the UK, but the software cos don't seem to know that...)

Sorry, Dan - I have NO experience setting up dual boot. I've so far been able
to avoid that, as I haven't upgraded to XP(or even 2000) yet...

When XP is installed, you'll now have a boot menu with two options:
"Windows"
"Windows XP"
the first is your old operating system.
cheers
John
Are they completely independent or do they share files/Registry
settings/swap files/etc? I've been looking into this because I want to
preserve my Win98 setup for *** but I'm eventually going to have to
install XP for work reasons (Visual Studio .NET doesn't "do" Win98).
they're completely independent. If you let XP format the 2nd partition as
FAT32 (rather than NTFS), you can still "see" all the files, but they do
not, in any way, affect the Win98 system on the C: drive, for example. The
reverse is also true. Installing software under a winXP on D: offers the
default of d:\program files... instead of c:\program files...
It does mean you'll be using up another 500mb or whatever on swap/page
files but that's the price of running two versions of windows anyway.
No interference between the systems anyway, so you can muck about with XP
without touching anything on win98.
cheers
John
