Hi,

Has anyone changed the car numbers for GP2 using the GP2CHNUM utility?
I've noticed that when I used it that the drivers performances have
changed drastically, eg: Hill is now number 5 and Schumacher 0 and their
skills seem to have switched around!! It seems to me as if the driver
performance is programmed into the car number, has anoyone else seen
this?? If so, if I want to recreate 1996 performances what numbers should
I give to which drivers??

I noticed this too - pretty disconcerting to find the Fortis continually
qualifying in the top 6!!!! Can anyone confirm?
Thanks,
Keith

Yeah me too, i often get Mika Salo, Montermini, and a few others
qualifying really well.  I even have Eddie Irvine outperforming
Schumacher.  Villeneuve is consistently at the back of the pack.

check under drive options - I believe there's a setting for opposition
levels - random, 1994 levels, etc. - i've been using 1994 levels and
schumacher's is usually up front with hill, coultard(?), berger, etc.

The best driver in GP2 (concerning his pathetic car) is katayama.
Katayama is always in the top ten, sometimes in the top 5. I think
he drove a Tyrrell in 94 - his constantly good performance might
be a joke from the programmers?

This really is no joke. Katayama's performance was one of the few
highlights of the '94 season. His average grid was 11.25, seven times in
the top 10, with two 5th's and a 6th (Germany, Hungary, and Portugal),
while only qualifying out of the top 20 once (Belgium, 23rd). His average
finish was 5.75, with 12 retirements.

Probably most surprised was Mark Blundell, who found himself hard-pushed
to keep pace. Blundell's average grid was 12.65, only twice in the top
10, with a 10th and 7th (Monaco and Germany), also only qualifying out of
the top 20 once, (Italy, 21st). His average finish was 7.85 with 9
retirements. Blundell scored more points (8 vs 5) although Katayama often
was in the position to score more than he did.
