Played it for first time last night. WOW.

I ran three races, Bristol,  Martinsville and Dover. I won Bristol (lots of
wrecks, got lucky) and had two thirds. Drive name is wecoyote. I found if you
stay cool lots of people take themselves out. But it was fun!!!! The Dover
race was the best because there was one wreck and like 15 cars racing.
Qualified 5th and finished 3rd. Also started Taladega with 21 cars but someone
rammed me at the start and I aborted.

I caused one wreck at Martinsville which I will learn from, and crashed into
someone after the checker at Dover becasue he stopped right after the flag.
Other than that I drove clean. I had a couple people make moves to pass me and
I let them go when they got alongside, I think if people can have that kind of
attitude and not close the door the game will be much more fun. Some people
seem to not want to get out of the way when being lapped.

What Papyrus did is really amazing. Bad part is it is a toll call to Boston.I
hope they have 800 number and charge say $2.00 and hour like warbirds.

Thanks to Ed, Mike and all at Papyrus and Sierra for creating Hawaii.
I was on last night for about four hours, (boy, is my wife gonna kill me).
Great intergration of all cars and smooth playing, Great job guys.

Now for the opinion part,,, yea I know, opinions are like.....
well you get the idea. Anyway, How about changing the first status rating of
one to be easier to attain. After four hours of racing I still didn't get
above 0. How about if you run a clean race, without hitting anyone or
anything, and finish 4th or above your status will be 1. This will allow
the more respectable drivers to create a race for one or above skill levels.
This may get more of the "bangers" and "grudges" out of a good race and leave
it back on skill 0. Also if at anytime that you are at skill 1 and bump
anyone you will be brought back to skill 0, no matter how well you finish.

The reason for the above,,, I ran two good clean races last night,
no bumping or crashing (at least of the top 10 players) and I finished 7th
and 4th in those races,,, but the next race had one person crashing everyone.

Just a thought,,, probably not a good one but....

And again to everyone involved in Hawaii.... GREAT JOB!!!

Joe,

Had a similar experience the other night...Same guy was on my ***for
2 laps. Caught me in almost every turn at Taladega but lost him in the
straights. For that reason, I wasn't moving over. He finally made up
enough time to stick with me out of a turn and I knew he'd blow by me
if he could draft me. So I did a little wiggle, he stuck with me.
Finally  I dipped a bit too much and it was Cya later. My mistake, I
should have held my line and let him try to draft. He passed for 5th
and I finished 6th. A great time still. I don't need to win but I'd
like to be competitive.

My understanding is the ratings don't start to get computed until you
run 10 events. Just keep up the good work and you'll move after 10 races
I guess. Also the calculations are done overnight so they aren't
real-time.

Tim,

Skill level rankings are currently updated each weekday between 10AM-1PM
Eastern time.  So, even if you were to win several races in a row, you
would not see any change in your level until you logged in the next day.

I don't how about your over night thing but I moved up after a race.
I think it was Martins.  But it wasn't over night.

Dave.
