I've installed the expansion pack, my buddy hasn't.  Last night was the
first time we've tried to race multiplayer since I've installed and the
modem won't initialize because it says a "minimum of 40 drivers must be
present."  Well, I go to my entry lists and I try to add 40 drivers, but
it won't let me...the highest I can go is....39!!!  Now wait a
minute...I thought when I first started racing N2 that I could have 42
or 43 drivers.  Do I remember correctly?  Anyway, I went and looked at
the race options and tried to increase the number of drivers
there...luckily, the highest it went to was 40 (still below what I
remember the max being, but it was enough).  Even though my multiplayer
entry list only had 15 drivers, it worked...at least for now.  We were
able to race on multiplayer.  Does anyone have an explanation?  Has this
happened to anyone else?  And should I expect any more quirks?

You've never been able to have more than 39 drivers.  N1 and N2 only
support up to 40 cars on any given track, including your car, 38
opponents, and the pace car.

  When I installed the BGN track pack, a "full field" now consists of 40 cars.
 That's 39 (yes, 39) opponents, you, and the pace car.  The new track texts
read "CARS 41 41" instead of "40 40".

I disagree.  Try 38 opponents, you, and the pace car.  38 opponents is still
the max at any track.

You can change the CARS XX XX line to read 50 50, and you'll still only have a
field max of 39...
