The MP Analyser is back online after being rewritten for efficiency.
The database files are 4 times bigger, but the latency time should be
very low now.
RACE LOG TIME INTERVALS
To save time and internet bandwidth, logs will be downloaded by month.
The default will be the current month. All other parts of the form,
such the Top N Lists are still cumulative.
USERNAMES
I had placed in the search engine, code that forced all usernames to
uppercase. I had to remove this because usernames ARE case sensitive.
There have been several accounts recently that have been overlooked
because the search engine didn't consider case. It now does. I placed
the code in because 1) I thought the usernames were not case sensitive.
and 2) it was easier to find a particular driver if you didn't have to
worry about case.
TRACK RATINGS
The individual track ratings should give everyone an idea of how we all
do on various tracks. The algorithm is exactly the same as the overall
rating, however, when calculating the track rating I only consider races
for that track and I only use track ratings. No overall ratings are
used. For this reason, individual track ratings are lower than overall
ratings.
TRACK CLASSIFICATION
Since Talladega is the only restrictor-plate track, it is the only
Superspeedway. Anything else considerably greater than 1 mile in length
is a speedway. Anything near 1 mile is a 1 mile oval. The only true
road courses are Watkins Glen and Sears Point. Even though Pocono and
Phoenix feel like road courses, they are not classified that way. You
can rate drivers anyway you like for each classifications. I'm not sure
how NRL will be designed. They may average track ratings, or they may
take the lowest or they may take the highest. We'll have to wait until
they release this information.
POINTS
If track ratings are reported in the race logs, then the points are also
track points, not overall points. If overall ratings are reported, then
points are overall points.
