I run a WC fantasy league on AOL. We are about to start a new season
next month. All INET drivers are welcome. Please read the rules which I
since I don't get to the USENET groups all that often.
LF 3000 Rules
1-Simulation: Little Formula 3000 requires the competitors to use World
Circuit by Microprose. No other sim will be used. You must also have the
Human horsepower and AI grip hex editor (see 'Hexing' below).
2-Levels: There are two driving levels. The Novice Level will use
auto-braking, and they must run in the 'Rookie Level' in the game. The
Pro
Level does not use auto-braking, and they must run in either the 'Pro' or
'Ace Level'. Indestructable mode is illegal for both levels. Drivers may
use any other aids availble in the 'sim level' they decide to use. Pro
drivers may also use auto-shifting(only availble if you have the modem
update or hex editor for WC).
3-Season: The season will consist of 16 races of varying length between
5%
and 50% race distance, which will be announced a week before that race,
and a Memorial race(see below). There will be one race a week. Each
track in the sim will be used, in random order. Some races maybe
manditory wet races.
4-Setups: Each driver will use the default setup that comes with the sim
for all the races and the qualifying session.
5-Signing up: To sign up, send your real name, team name, car number,
has already been taken, you will be asked to submit another one which has
not been taken.
6-Qualifying: There will be only one qualifying session all season. It
will determine the starting pos. for the first race, fastest time is on
the
pole. After that, starting pos. will be determined by the finishing order
from the previous race, but inversed. For the qualifying session, go into
the 'Non-Champ Mode', select the track which will be used for
qualifying(See below). Then go into the qualifying mode. You may use all
7-Races: Start your race in the place where you qualified in comparison
to
the other drivers competing in LF3000, thus you must run your races in
'Quick Race Mode'. Post your race time, fast lap, car#, team name, email
ET. If you do not finish your race, include how many laps you COMPLETED.
If your don't finish on the lead lap, include winner's time. If your
don't win your race, please add the winner's time and the time you
finished behind, and post only the added time. NOTE: DON'T PRESS ESCAPE
AFTER YOU FINISH YOUR RACE!!! You must wait until "Race Over" appears on
the screen. Otherwise, you will loose your times.
8-Late Results: If, for any reason, your results are late, they will be
taken, but a 2 minute penalty will be assessed. Late results will only be
taken for 24 hours after the deadline.
9-Championship Scoring: The Championship will be determined by the
fastest
overall time after each race is completed. Times of every race for each
driver will be added together. Drivers who DNF will be given the SLOWEST
time ran that race. Late comers will be given the SLOWEST times for all
the races s/he missed, and they will start at the back of the grid.
10-Team Title: The team title will determined by points. However, it
will
be determined differently from previous seasons. The team which finishes
first receives 10 points, the second place receives 9, etc. Note that if
a
team finishes first and third, the team will only receive first place
points. In other words, the best finish on the team gets the points.
11-FastLap Title: There will be a special FastLap title to the driver who
runs the fastest laps during the season. The fast laps for each driver
from every race will be entered into the FASTLAP Record Keeper written by
Pedro Sander (It can be found in the Auto Racing Library). In this
program, points are given to each driver based on their lap time, the
faster lap getting more points. The driver accumulating the most points
during the season will win the FastLap title. There will separate
competitions for both levels. The qualifying session will be included.
12-Driving: Drivers MUST go through every turn. Skipping chicanes or any
other turn in an effort to gain time is strictly illegal, and warrants a

second penalty. If, however, your are FORCED to miss a turn(i.e. being
hit
by another car, braked to late), no action will be taken.
13-Hexing: Drivers may use hex settings they chose for the AI cars but
recommended settings are 790-850 for Pro drivers, and 750-780 for Novice.
Human settings and AI grip settings will be announced the week before each
race. If you don't have either hex editor, AOL members can d/l both from
the Auto Racing library. Internet drivers can get the hex editor by
several emails to send the uuencode code.).
14-Questions: Send all questions, comments, suggestions, and results to
15-Validity: Please send only valid results for the fairness to other
drivers.
16-Offical Results: Results will be offical 24 hours after the deadline
has
expired. There will be NO changes for any reason after those 24 hours.
If
you question a driver's results, you must 'speak up' before then.
17-Rule Changes: These rules may, and will, change for the better of the
series. All changes are effective immediately unless otherise stated.
18-Memorial Race: This race wil be run in memory of all those who died to
make Auto racing what it is today. It will be a 100% race at Imola.
There
are no setup restrictions for this race. This race has no bearing on the
championship. Full details will be released later.
