UK only? Evesham Micros MSC steering wheel - any good?

Hi

I have seen the adverts for Evesham Micros and in amongst them there
is a "multi-system" MSC steering wheel and pedal setup for UK pounds
69+VAT. Has anyone seen this in action and if so does it work! Also
does it appear as though it is well made and will last a fair while

Got one last September went through 1 of them though(One of the Trim
settings button was not working) there are not bad though the pedals are
a bit too small for my liking (I might make a proper pedal box and use
the bits of the pedals to make it)

Use can use the wheel in three modes

1. As a Yoke(I use it this way as it sort of looks like a say a Jordan F1
Steering wheel with it open top of the wheel !!!). It has two buttons on
the top of the ends of the yoke/wheel, I use it for changing up and down
gears sort of F1 style, It works great in this mode for F1GP, Indycar I &
II, Nascar, Screamer, VK(Bad game Microprose !!!), Manic Karts((demo) out
28/02/96 so my *** Megastore tells me), The Need For Speed (Although
the buttons cannot be configured, the above games you can configure them,
As I use the Right button for up and Left for Down gear F1 Style), Also
as a Yoke you can move a switch so that the Pedals act as Joystick 2 so
they are seperate also there is a rudder control slider switch under the
wheel and a seperate throttle power lever used only in flights sims of
course !!

2. As a Motor bike, The handles of the Yoke invert and turn round so it
looks like a Motorbike, (There is a question of strengh here as regards
to wheel as when I was turn them round I broke one of handles trying to
do this so I have glued the handles so that they can no longer turn round
:( Although saying that I never really used it in motorbike style as
there is not too many motorbike sims out as yet)

3. Or you can put a wheel on top the yoke so it has a complete wheel and
the there are two sort of pass-through connectors to activate the button
on the top of the yokes controls(Presonaly I find a bit clumsy using the
wheel this way and slower in use than just using it yoke mode)

What I can say about it in general use is that I can get some damn good
times in say F1GP, Indycar II, NASCAR and The Need For Speed etc,
Although I question how long it will last as it not built too strongly
i.e. easy brakable plastic. But for 69 + vat = 80 pounds it is not bad.
My only major problem with it is the size of pedals they are two small
and with shoes or whatever you cannot get proper feel of the throttle and
brakes (It has only got two pedals on the unit)

Email any specific questions about and I will try my best to answer !!

Just my piece said

I assume this is the remnants of the Konix games console that was going to be
about a few few years ago. Jeff Minter was involved. One of the main selling
points was this multi-role controller. I saw a small picture in an add and it
certainly looked like the prototypes that were about in the mags. I seem to
recal they were planning to do a home chair controller. A thing you sat in an
rocked about. All the bits were gogin to plug together like lego.

 Cheers,
