I've just got N3.... but I wonder about a possible new sim in the near
future.
Can we hope for a CART sim (or NASCAR...) with GPL physics in y2k?

Whenever we see it - it will take over as the sim of sims IMO.

Sorry, no more thinking, back to racing!

If voting changed anything, they'd make it illegal.
What is it with this NASCAR thing? Incomprehensible...
Is it really that much dough in Nascar sim racing? Is the american market THAT
big?

I've bought my first joystick espcially for this game, the PC was
an Amstrad PC1512, in CGA monochrome, 3h hour to complete a full race :o)
And i remember , if somebody moved the mouse it created inteference on
the joystick and often you finished on the wall :o) How many times
i had to run after my syster because she killed me in a mouse-indycar
crash ? :o)
i'd like to know if papyrus sell more units in US or in the rest of the
world ? because Indycar is more popular than Nascar in Europe.

According to ESPN, Dale Jarrett is the world's best race driver of 1999...
http://espn.go.com/auto/nascar/news/1999/1201/206089.html
And a drag racer finishes ahead of Mika Hakkinen.
Is drag racing really driving? To me "driving" a car implies turning the
steering wheel at some point.

Well, Dave since both the world champion in Formula 1 and in World Rally
championship are from Finland they are getting very much coverage over here
<G>. In fact the biggest problem is which one of them will be named the
driver of the year in Finland. Hakkinen has won two championships in a row
now and Tommi Makinen has won an unprecedented four championships in a row
in WRC. My vote this year would go to Tommi Makinen.
And talking about mistakes, didn't Schumi make a mistake when he broke his
leg and thus was unable to compere for the title this year? I can't remember
anyone giving a comprehensive explanation of car failure resulting in
Schumi's crash in Silverstone. To me it looked like Michael was in a hurry
to get past his teammate, got into the dirty part of the track, maybe even
drove too fast for that part of the track and simply lost it all by himself.
They all make mistakes every now and then after all.

Yes they do..I thought Schumi's axident was explained as total rear
brake failure. Sure he was charging hard inside Irvine, but there was
no braking at all even after the corner was cooked. If it had been
driver error, then the corner would have been smothered in smoke as he
locked up trying just to save the corner...
But don't get me started on Schue either. Everyone claims he's the
master of handling pressure. Yet when Damon was pressuring him in
Adelaide and Jacques two years ago in the last race, he cracked like a
dropped egg. :)
I'm sure the mainly American Journalists doing the voting also
weighted Jarret's vote tally since he's the guy who was supposed to
flopp, who couldn't fill Davey Allison's shoes.

I think it gives a good snapshot of how americans view the world of motor
sport.
As someone else pointed out, no rally drivers.
>>>Want to show us where it says WORLD's best race driver?
>>The inclusion of Mika Hakkinen (#3), Eddie Irvine(#11), Michael
>>Schumacher(#13), and other F1 drivers obviously makes it a world list.
>>I think it gives a good snapshot of how americans view the world of motor

>Do you think any European 'World's Best Driver's List' will have
>any CART or NASCAR drivers included?
>I doubt it.
