In GPL, I race with my qual setup and then Race setup (same setup).
In Nascar 3 you have to change setups.
In real life you have to change setup a lot.
There are a number of ways of doing this. There is no right or wrong
answer. You could soften the suspension to try and compensate for teh lack
of grip (cold tires), or stiffen the suspension to try and generate some
heat in the tires.
Just depends.....:-)

Assuming that the change in tyres does not affect the overall balance of the
car, just the level of grip.

If I was to set a car up to be as fast as possible on soft, grippy tyres
that wouldn't last long enough to use in the race, then changed to less
grippy ones, would the setup remain the fastest, or would I need to modify
it again?
What about the other way around? Taking the fastest setup on hard tyres to
more grippy ones.
