I was turned on to this group by a fellow journalist.

I figured I was smart enough to keep my mouth shut since I was out of my
league.

It's hard to see sometimes when you grind day in and day out at something.

Outside looking in:

FIRST OFF: Never, ever install any version of XP. I was flabbergasted. What
an appalling piece of shit this must be for you guys

SECOND: The discussion here and the participants pretty much exceeds every
other newsgroup I have ever witnessed on Usenet. You have a special
community here. Work hard to maintain that. It's as rare as an Unicorn. It
will be mentioned in the mainstream press. At least you'll know the source.

Bravo, guys. It's a very special thing.

FINALLY: When are you guys ever going to realize that DETHKARZ was the
greatest racing game of all-time??

Just a quirk of mine. I just love the game and have donated a couple
marriages to it.

For me at least, it's not so much the software itself as Microsoft's
attitude - John elsewhere in this thread puts it in a nutshell. I'm
sticking with Win98SE for as long as I can, and if XP is still the best
Windows on offer when I eventually have to change, then...
