ATI's new chip will be called the RADEON 256, with 30 million
transistors, with 128MB or DDR (double-data rate) memory at 200MHz. It
will reach 1.5 Gigatexal per second rendering engine, on-chip hardware
HDTV decorder and a proprietary new "Charisma" engine, which
incorporates a 30 million triangle per second geometry engine, plus
other 3D character animation techniques. It's said that the new chip is
twice as complex as a PIII processor. They took Quake III: Arena, with a
RADEON 256, and got 90 FPS at a resolution of 1024x768 at 32-bit true
