World Circuit Modem Link

My brother and I played World Curcuit via a modem link for the first
time and I'm curious if the performace we got is typical. I have
486DX2/66 and my brother has a 486SX/25. I was the controlling
computer and was at just over %100 cpu use with only 8 frames per
second, anything higher was unplayable. We were connected at 19200
using 14400 baud modems. Do we simply need more horse power to get a
playable modem game?

Thanks

Both the modems are external. What's a UART card?

No, i've linked on a 386 before...try 16.6 frames per second, no traction or
detail, and 19200 baud...that should very very smooth indeed for a modem link!

Hope this helps! :)

  I connected with a 386/33 and a 386/25 both 2400 modems and we
were getting atleast 14+ fps.  Is the 14.4k or the 19.2k modem
external... you might need a 16550 UART card.
