Still looking for a Wheel Set to purchase. Thanks to all who replied to
questions on Thrustmaster Supersport. I would buy one today but local
'superstore' doesn't stock it and the one mail order dealer I called is
out-of-stock until unknown date.

So what about the Act Labs RS? - I read a number of reviews that say it's
quite good. I found it doesn't support dual axis pedals, but on the other
hand the cartridge system sounds smart.

Any comments good and bad? Thank you in advance.

It's gotten a lot of good reviews.  I think the wheel
is better than the Thrustmaster products I've tried.
The pedals work ok too, and a new driver update may allow
split-axis for gas and brake.

I've seen this mentioned before, but i don't understand how it's
possible. If the pedals are wired for single axis operation, then they
are basically two potentiometers in series, and their resistance is
summed before it gets to the gameport. No driver in the world will allow
such a setup to work as independent pedals, because the gameport only
sees the sum of the two pedals. It has know way of differentiating
between letting off the gas or pressing the brake.

A pair of pedals wired as separate axes CAN however be combined into a
single axis in the driver. This is in fact exactly how the Thrustmaster
SuperSport pedals work.

Oops... I'd read that, but it hadn't sunk in. Thanks for the
clarification.

The RS and Force RS use the same pedals.  The pedals
are wired seperately, and fed into the circuitry
in the cartridge.  It is my understanding that the
driver could be configured to report the pedals
seperately, instead of summed on one axis.

I think ACT Labs relies on Immersion for the drivers,
so it's up to immersion to do the update.

Just curious, do any other Immersion supported
wheels allow spit-axis?
