I've never watched Le Mans or GT car races before, so I was wondering
if the cars are really this slow. I'm playing the GTR demo and the
Storm and Morgan just chug along like a steam locomotive. It looks
like I can't even get the tachometer to hit its max as soon as I hit
3rd gear and up.

I think that what happens is most people DO think about the limiter, and hit L,
CRT-L, ALT-L, etc. Problem is, that's not always the default in GTR. On mine,
the standard install mapped it to a joystick 3 button. I don't even *have* a
joystick 3. Since I'd seen others talk about it before I installed the
program, I was aware to look for it, so I never had to ask. But, different
installs seem to do different things. One of the guys in one of my leagues had
the same problem. It was initially mapped to L, but then got changed somehow.
I don't know if he reinstalled, or what. So although he knew about the
limiter, the key that used to work didn't so he asked for help.

It is getting changed when folks choose one of the pre-packaged wheel
configurations. I got the same thing when I grabbed the MOMO wheel config.
HOWEVER...all one has to do is peruse the keyboard commands and there it
will be...as plain as the pimple on my backside...:)

You're right - it should be. Same thing with F1C - I think it's on by default
until you actually turn it off. Same game engine, so...

I'd had the same problem. Been a while since I played a game that had
a pit limiter that didn't turn off automatically. Dumb. Who knows how
many people tried the demo, got cheesed off, then deleted it. Lost
customers.
