The motherboard in my HTPC went bad, so instead of putting money into a
low end system, I moved the current P4 2.53 and mother board from my
main machine in there, and bought new guts for my main machine.

Used an ASUS A8V motherboard and Athlon64 3500 processor.  I also
upgraded to 1GB of RAM.

Using the same Radeon 9800 Pro, I picked up nearly _50_ frames per
second in NR2003!

That was a pleasant suprise :)

I guess the Radeon had room for desert :)

I always said something was screwy with that box Larry.  I get around 100FPS
consistently on my P4-3gig/9700P.  1024X768X32 6XAA 16AF.

How does the 64 bit chip work with NR 2003?

No problems whatsoever.

I have NOT installed XP SP2.  I need to make sure it doesn't affect
NR2003 (it's on the affected apps list for some reason).

Nothing wrong with the old board at all, other than it was a 2.53Ghz
machine.

1280X1024X32, I got around 100 fps in Richmond.

After the upgrade I got close to 160fps at Richmond.

So I went into the game and the drivers and turned everything available
at it's maximum quality settings and still stayed above 50-70fps, closer
to 80 in area's.

1280X1024X32, 6xAA, 16xAF, all settings to quality and all settings
maxed in game.

Life is good :)

With 'typical' settings at Richmond at 1280X1024X32 I was getting 150-160.

After maxing out the Game and driver, as well as upping the res to
1600X1200X32 I was getting 50-60, sometimes 70 or 80 depending on where
the car was on the track and who was around me.

I didn't get 'sitting in pits' measurements.  I should have...

What driver version are you using?  I am on the latest WDM and only get
about 80 FPS.  I am using a FX-53 chip with 1 gig of memory and a 9800 PRO
ATI.  In BF1942 I will get 200FPS but I guess NR2003 (For me) isn't up to
snuff.
