The manual SUCKS. It has only limited information and does not go into
great detail. It does have *some* information on setting up the car,
but no examples.

Yes, it is true.

That being said, this is an ***ING game. I am having great fun and
just dying for the multiplayer patch to come out - this game cries out
for it. Buy it at Electronic Boutique and send in the $10 rebate from
their web site (www.ebworld.com). If you don't like it, you can always
return it to EB.

Don,

The man doesn't even own a copy of burnout. I would take his critiques
lightly.

Man, people are irritable today. Seems to me that Trevor is simply looking
forward to that game. No since everybody jumping down his throat. Hey, at least
he builds an awesome wheel/pedal deal! It's helped me cut alot off of my lap
times in F1RS and nascar 2,  since replacing my T2 with it.  I just got Burnout
so I'll try it and post my impressions.
                                                       Cheers, Ken

Hi Ken,

I just dont understand why everyone is picking on me<g> I have been
called a tool by some little 10 year old boy and others are leaping on
me just because I asked about "Burnout" :(!

I really feel persecuted and hurt now ;), I sure wish they'd leave me
alone, what could possibly be wrong with "Burnout"? After all it was
produced by the same folks who did "X Car"<g>.

No one is irritable today. Everyone is probably just sick of this guy
bashing a product that he hasn't even tried. He doesn't try to add
anything worthwile to the discussions about the sim, just repeated
bashing. See his reply to your post for further proof. Whoever called
him a "tool" wasn't too far off base in my opinion.

The manual essentially blows.

Yep... The lack of a***pit view is not this games biggest flaw IMHO :-)

IMHO wait for NHRA and see if that one is scewed up.

Maybe it is a new TSW marketing scheme :-)

Greg, you guessed it<g> no actually its just for fun, I want to see how
many of these people would take the bait, I have a good laugh reading
the flames :).

I have nothing against Burnout and BS other than the fact that the game
isnt as realistic as I'd like, I hear that they are working on it though
so it may turn out better in the end. Contrary to some peoples opinions
I do have the game, play it and it is kind of fun.

We also test for Tantrum on NDR and it is the better sim by far right
now but then its Pro only so there is room for a good Sportsman class
sim and if BS is serious about it, Burnout can be fixed I think. But
this wont happen if everyone raves it up as it is, will it?

Rrevved as has been mentioned the manual is very sketchy in
regards to many areas.
Yes, some of the speeds and et's aren't realistic but you are being
allowed in the setup menu's to take things way past their normal values.
I have my 55 running 4.90's at 280 but in real life I wouldn't have
the options to alter my tires, trannies etc. to the degree found in the
game.
The key is finding a consistent, repeatable car and going bracket racing
and this is accomplished well in the game. I hope that Bethesda listens and
does do a few tweaks to bring it further along but it is a lot of fun
playing the game
and very ***ive.

        Regards, Pete

 A couple of Burnout questions:

1) What info is included in the manual included with Burnout.
Specifically, are all the Chassis/Engine setup options fully explained,
with examples, etc.? How big is the manual and how big is the setup
section of the manual?

2) I have heard some *very* unrealistic e.t.'s and top speeds are possible
in Burnout.. (280MPH/5 second '55 Chevys) . Is this true? Is it really
this
 unrealistic.

I am very interested in it, but would appreciate this info before taking
 the plunge....

 Thanks!
