Newbie N1 help. Please!

Hey Folks, well I've tried the N1 game on my 486 DX 12ram PC.
It' pretty cool. thanks Andre for picking it up for me.
Now for my troubles.
First off the graphics are much worse than my INDYCAR 1
should I try to install the svga graphics?
Secondly even though I've only been simm racing with I2 for about two
weeks, have I been spoiled by the handling of F1 cars?
In indycar 1, my car was glued to the track (mostly michagan)
In Nascar1, my car is mushy, the steering is sloppy, and I'm having a lot
more troubles making clean passes.
Don't get me wrong, I expected the NASCAR feel with increased "rubbing".
but I think I need better setups than the ACE or Qualifyng loadings are
giving me. Please help me with the setups for Michagan and Talladega
so I can enjoy this game sooner.
Thanks.
Aloha, Henry

Welcome to thw world of NASCAR Henry!  Do load (run ) the SVGA version if your
computer will handle it.  Much cleaner and easier to see therefore easier to
drive.  You may have to turn your graphics way down. For example-- turn off
the trees, road textures, wall texture, grass.  Try leaving on the road lines
and car texture then see how things run. Any skippiness will result in poor
 handling and slower times.

For a very good reference on how to set up the cars try www.theuspits.com they
have a very good manual on "how-to".  There are some other sites that have
very comprehinsive info out too.  Find and load the update patch 1.21 I think.
It helps a lot.  After loading the patch Tally should have an ACE 1.2 setup
in it.  It's very good.  Some www sites still have N1 stuff in them but most
have long since switched to N2.

Good Luck and keep em fast and low!

There is a "traction" bug in NASCAR1.  What happens is a setup that will
work the first 15 minutes on the track will suddenly change dramatically
afterwards.  I would suggest that you just tool around on a track for
about 15 minutes and then start working on a setup that will work.
Otherwise you will be wasting time chasing this traction bug.  I can't
quite remember the order that this happens, but I think it starts out
quite tight and then the real traction kicks in.  Once this happens the
traction will stay stable (until the next time you fire up NASCAR1, then
you have to wait about 15 minutes for it to come back).
