EA's F1CS Newbie Question

by Paul Jage » Sun, 05 Aug 2001 17:13:02

I have just bought a second hand copy of EA's F1 CS for 10, which I thought
was very good value. I wondered however if someone might guide me as to what
patches/updates I should also be downloading to enhance the game.
Can I also ask whether 1024 res is the highest the game will allow?

Thanks

PJ

Congrats - F1CS rocks.  First thing you should go and get is the 2001
carsets and tracks at www.f1carsets.com  Then try and find ][udson's sound
patch - invaluable.  I'm not sure what server it's on lately, but you can
check out the F1CS forum at http://dynamic2.gamespy.com/~hg/forums - I know
he's posted there recently.  And yes, 1024's about the max for the game...

There is a no CD patch at www.bhmotorsports.com.  The other ones that I
have heard of, but have not tried yet, are Magic Box (can't remember
where), which allows you to edit a lot of different stuff, and the
CART2K patch (http://www.champweb.net/cart2x.htm), which unfortunately
is still in alpha stage and AFAIK doesn't come with any new tracks
(there are supposedly tracks available at simracing.com, but that site
doesn't appear to exist anymore).
