Actually it's not uncommom Rik, oddly enough I think even Uwe himself did it. I
see your below it already. Did you notice that for that short time you were
0.00 that you were invisible to other people? No you probably didn't, most
people are never aware of it.  Welcome to the dark side Rik.

Congrats to you Rik!

No, there were several replies from you in this thread. Maybe your ISP
filters ***, hate-mail, and really, really inane replies? ;-)

Cheers,

Yes, wasn't "paying attention" on one of them. <g>

But, like I said, they didn't appear here on supernews (my own isp drops
even more headers), so it would have been kind of awkward to apologise for
that one in an unrelated part of the thread.

1:22?  In what car?  Also, do you have a replay for me to compare to?  My PB is
a 1:24.xx, and that was just *barely**** on, IIRC...

Mosport is a frustratingly difficult track Eldred, imho the most
difficult track of the original tracks.. I had to practice a LONG time
to get a 1:22, I was in the 1:23/1:24 zone for a long time..
That Moss hairpin was where I lost all my time btw.. use Replay
Analyzer to see where you lose most of your time and focus on those
corners..

The first two lefthanders, and the turn after the jump on the back straight.
That's my guess - I'll check when I get home.  I know that those are the ones
where I keep falling off the track, so it's reasonable that's where I'm losing
time.  Who did you compare your laps to?

Because of one reason or another Mosport is my favourite track
(maybe because it's in Canada ;>). For me the key to this track is
to be patient and don't overdrive the car. I short-shift a lot and
brake earlier. I even stopped using 1st gear except the start;
and the 2nd gear is only to accelerate out of Moss. As a result
Mosport is the only track where my lap times in the race (pb=1:21.00)
are faster than in practice (1:21.3x) and it is probably the track
where I can drive with the best consistency.

I wish I could restrain myself on other tracks as well:)

Gong were (are) a wonderfully bizarre band led by Daevid Allen (aka Dingo
***, aka Bert Camembert), one of the founding members of the Soft
Machine, who had an entire mythology based on the little green planet
Gong.  The inhabitants of said planet, the Pot Head Pixies, traveled
around in flying teapots and communicated via a telepathic network called
the Radio Gnome Invisible. Their three albums comprising the Radio Gnome
Invisible trilogy - Flying Teapot, Angel's Egg, and You - are all great
stuff.   The band members all had pseudonyms (the aforementioned ones for
Daevid Allen, Steve Hillage = Submarine Capt. Spillage, Tim Blake = Hi T
Moonweed the Favourite, Didier Mahlerbe = Bloomdido Bad De Grasse, etc.).
Bill Bruford, the famous drummer from Yes and King Crimson, briefly played
in the band, but was not an integral member.

One of the characters in this mythology is Zero the Hero, a sort of
Everyman character, hence my post.

To read more about them - http://www.racesimcentral.net/

Now aren't you sorry you asked?

Dave Ewing

Disclaimer - for you young and impressionable listeners, I am not
advocating the use of psychedelics or other mind-expanding ***.  ;-)

No. Here. No. ;-)

Actually I think it was me who went 0.000 first (most
appropriately, and then two others, I think).

Congrats on your sub-zero rank, rik. Keep it up!
