I was wondering how you get back to the desktop from nascar 4 without
exiting the program.

running open GL = run in a window
direct = alt-tab

do you have to run in a window.  Does that slow things down as far a fps.

In open GL that's the only way and actually in most cases it increases fps ,
you will have to push the screen to the top in order to see the bottom
buttons . only way to see is to try it yourself on your machine

If you use Open GL you cant, use D3D and you can Alt Tab

You can also set the task bar to drop down when not in use, this means the
little bit of space at the bottom where the window normally sits ontop of is
free, so you don't need to move it up. :-)

For some reason , yes i've tried different drivers etc. I get about 80 fps
in D3d and about 45fps in OpenGL w. a GF2U. I've read that most run OpenGL.

D3D looks 'washed' out to me.
