I cannot connect to Sierra.com - is it down or something?

All I get is an error message:

Turn your firewall security 'down' or completely off.  Your computer has
shut down some needed ports to communicate with Sierra.com.

Oh dear ... maybe you need one?  [grinz]

Have you installed the US 1.1.0.0 Patch?

ftp://ftp3.sierra.com/pub/patches/pc/n4.1.1.0.0_us.exe

or for the non-USA racers:

ftp://ftp3.sierra.com/pub/patches/pc/n4.1.1.1.0_int.exe

Regarding the firewall, you should run one outside the games.  Zone Alarm's
free version works great.

Yes - I've even raced there before...

Besides I also hope/think the game would report back if I tried to use an
invalid account..

Some one mentioned something about files being given wrong name after
applying the patch.... anyone know what files that is??
