Help ICR2/Mich problems

HI,
I have a problem at Michigan.  I can qualify on the pole and I have a
setup that is very good and consistent on full tanks.  I can run 227 on
ful tanks the first full lap out of the pits and then run consistantly at
231.  BUT in the race, all under constant weather, no changes to
anything, I can't get up to 227 even after 15-20 laps.  WHY???  Please
can anyone help me.  I just cannot understand why it is like this.  Any
help would be greatly appreciated.

Indycars at Michigan and Indy are very unpredictable.  The aerodynamics of
the car in traffic is very inconsistent.  When you are following or being
followed in an Indycar, the air flows not only straight over the car but
curled underneath and curled after exiting the back of the wings.  When the
front wing is done with the air, it pushes it up to the top of the car and
to the bottom.  The front wing curls the air around making it unstable for
the rest of the car.  When you are in traffic.  You are getting
super-curled air from other cars which may help down straightaways but
takes downforce away for turns and makes the car unstable.  This even
occurs when there is no car around you but there is a group of cars runnig
together somewhere else on the track.  In short, the air is messed up in
the race, so unless you can't keep up, don't worry about your speeds.

Maybe you need to get the ICR2 ver. 1.0.2 patch from Sierra/Papyrus.  You
can get it from the Sierra Website.  Hope this helps.
