Super 1 Karting setup tips

I've put up a new section on the Super 1 Karting Offline League site
called "Setup Tips" -- you can find the link at the top of the main
page:

http://www.racesimcentral.net/~jbodin/s1koffline.htm

I've put together more info and a little tutorial on gear ratios,
front and rear track, and there are a few sample setups there as well.
I'm no kart setup guru, but this should help those of you who are more
inept than I am!

;-)

Enjoy!

JB-
i've never understood the '***' thing in this game. seems like my motor
just loses power as the race goes on. i assume the ***has something to do
with it but i can't figure it out. think you could explain it to me?

thanks,
mark

Nice John, thanks you, Super 1 karting really is a fun game.
For all you kart fans, avoid the new Open Kart game from Microids like
hell, it's total rubbish. Pick up Super 1 Karting from a bargain bin
instead!

Funny you should ask, Mark -- I just added a new section to the "Setup
Tips" page that explains what the ***does and how to use it. Check
it out and let me know if it helps!

It is like a real motor of this type.
I don't actually drive a two stroke myself but Ive picked up the basic idea
of it.

People generally ***at the end of a straight into a corner probably a
slow one or after a long straight, by covering the air duct with their hand
it means the fuel becomes richer, the richer fuel should give the engine a
boost out of the corners and also a bit of lubrication.
On the straight the engine goes back to being a little bit lean (this isn't
adjustable in the game as it is in real life) but runs faster.

The basic principle in the game is to do it once or twice a lap so the
engine is always lubricated and runs to the max.

King Hiro Racing......I Love It! I'm not sure if it was '93 or'94 (probably
both) but as enjoyable as the actual race was I kept a keen eye on Emmo and
Hiro's track positions just to hear those words. Emmo's comment afterwards
was something to the effect of....'Thees oval racing is difficult... for
sure, at least on road course chicanes don't move...for sure' :-)
