N2k2 and Cacheman

I have been reading on this forum and others that if you run cacheman
it will help provide better overall computer perfomance. I also have
read that some people are using this and getting better performance in
N2k2. I have d/l 5.11 and have done the wizard within cacheman and
followed all the steps and really dont see much of an improvement. Do
I need to have this running in the background as I am running N2k2 or
do I just save the setups in cacheman and then close it out and it
still runs? I am some what new to using cacheman so if anyone could
post a tweak or some info that would be great

System specs
AMD 1.2 gig
512 pc133 sdram
Geforce 2 Ultra
and then the basics.

What OS are you running? With  512 of sdram i doubt you need to run
cacheman.

I am running ME. I thought having that much ram wouldnt be much
concern to run cacheman.

People will tell you xxxx prog makes my computer faster just because they
are using it when in fact it makes no difference and may in fact be
detrimental to system performance. Progs like Cacheman will do nothing for
Win98 and up unless you are runnung a PC with an inadequate amount of ram.
Win95 is another story though because it managed memory differently.
