F1GP2 - Game doesn't allow pit stops?!

by El Kabo » Tue, 23 Jul 1996 04:00:00

Hi,

I've played F1GP2 for about an hour at a local computer store. Still
debating about a purchase but there is one thing that I would really like
to know.

Every time I tried to make a pit stop, the car would not drive
into the pits! Do pit stops actually exist in this game? I can't believe
they don't as they are such an important part of racing but I
couldn't find a way into them without hitting the "Q" key (which
automatically puts me in the pits up on a jack - no driving in - this kinda
sucks). I also tried messing with the pit strategy options but they
didn't seem to have any effect.

The clerk at the shop wasn't much help as he had the box but the
manual was nowhere to be found (maybe the boss has it at home? :-)).
I checked back again today and it is still missing in action.

Anyway, could someone explain to me how to pit in F1GP2? I want to go
back and test this aspect before I make a purchase.

Thanx in advance.

remeber in the original WC you had  to "call" into the pits before the
game would let you turn onto pit road. I'm not sure, but I think it was
the enter key. A light on the dash also light up when your pit was open.

BTW, I like your name :>

Hit the return key, that signals you want to come into the pits.

This is with steering assistance enabled.  If you disable steering assistance
(which you should!), then you can drive the car wherever on the track that you
like.  The steering assistance is buried somewhere within the game options
menu, along with traction assist etc.  Don't worry, you CAN disable that
feature.

You have to hit enter if you want to pit. Then the 2 boxes in the lower
right corner go yellow and you can pit.

G'day ***wit,.

Did you happen to see a manual when you dived for the CD?????
Have you ever played F1GP1? If so, ***wit, you would know how to get
into the pits.

You obviously don't know shit!

Hi Pat,

Yes you can toggle disable/enable the help options with the
F1/F2/F..keys!
Steering/Braking/Gearing...
I am not sure if it is the same as in F1GP1 thou!

Hi Mike !

In order to reach the pit "safely" you have to hit the ENTER (or RETURN)
key to inform the pit crew that you're just entering the pit lane.
I managed to return to the pit several times and I didn't notice any
problem; perhaps you forgot to hit the ENTER key or the pits are busy.

Best,
Roberto
