Papy: Any update 2 ICR2 upgrade?

I am just asking if there is any news about how one will be able to
"upgrade" their DOS version of ICR2 1.00 to the newly released version?

The following was found on AOL in the Customer Support area for Sierra
On-Line.  This follows their standard practice for all of their updates.
Is this the final and official stand on the issue?

The Windows 95 version of the game is largely the same, but does benefit
from an improved interface (since it's Windows) and some other minor
enhancements worked into it -- also, modem play will probably easier in
the Windows version.

If you have the DOS version of the game and would like to upgrade, send
in the CD and a check or money for $15 to this address:

Sierra On-Line
PO Box 485
Coarsegold CA  93614-0485
ATTN:  Sierra Upgrades

Be sure to include a note with your request, name, address, and phone
number. If you have additional questions, you can contact Customer
Service by posting a message in our Customer Service forums.

What happened to the Dos Only upgrade to fix bugs? Does this apply now
to that also? No plans for downloadable patch for Dos fix only?

Still patiently waiting... Just searching for the answers!

I certainly hope this is not our only choice.  If so it makes me
wonder if I should even bother to look forward to Nascar2.

Thanks for bringing us this news. The following is not directed at
you...

$15 *and* the CD? How about the front cover of the manual and 5 bucks
to cover postage and handling! I'm not particularly willing to let go
of my CD; from what I hear, the new version has the same old yellow
flag bug, and who knows what else. Like I said earlier ('nother post),
would any of you be surprised to put on the eventual patch and
discover right off that the "over rev" light still isn't functional?!
Papyrus/Sierra sounds like it is going/has gone  totally
dysfunctional. Even their technical guys online with have apparently
freaked out. I've never really seen anything like. Is this what
happens when a company gets bought by Sierra?

I figure that the way things are going, in a year we can buy the CD
for $15 bucks in Sierra's bargain bins at CompUSA .

I haven't played ICR2 in a long time, battling the bugs is bad enough,
but this upgrade thing is putting the nail in the coffin. I may just
have to pull the T2 off the computer and wait until GP2 comes out in
'99 or '00.

Sounds like we have to PAY for it, while Win95 users get it FREE  :(
