Hi,

Since we, GPL-***s, don't all have access to fast transmittionrates
required for ONline racing we've decided to organize an OFFline GPL Racing
League in which we still are able to compare our efforts to stay on the
track.

Please join us at:

Gentlemen, start your engines!

Very nice site, guys!  Looks like fun.  I just have one question which
isn't clarified. You state that sandbagging isn't allowed and then list
various classes for the racers to join, but you don't give any
guidelines as to how skilled one should be for each class. Do you have
any recommendations based on lap times?

Tnx! Too be honest: the rules still have to be tuned and that's why we first
will organize a so called testrace. However, the different classes are to
drive in with different powered cars. For example: Novice has to be driven
with the Trainer. Intermediate with the Advanced Trainer and so on. The
level of the CC's will be tuned to the class you drive in.
Further specifications will be given asa we have a reasonable amount of
entries.

If you're comfortable racing in a particular mode in GPL, try it in the
League as well. We  have as of yet no idea what lap-times will be set in
each class. We will soon add the possibility to change your class (and other
data) to the website, so you can switch once you discover your too fast (or
too slow) for a particular class.

Also, be sure to sign op for the upcoming test race (coming soon). This will
probably be a classless race, just to compare your ability with that of the
other drivers.

Hang on, I can't see anything on the website about having to use
Trainer cars.

You don't have to! Small slip of the keyboard there...

We will use the normal cars for each class. So, you just start the race in
whatever class you signed up for. I don't think it's even possible to race
using Trainer cars...

Sorry for any confusion this might have caused...

Small slip of the keyboard there, sorry.

This is not correct, of course. I don't think it is even possible to race
using Trainer cars, but even if it is, this is not our intention.

We will race using the default setting of the game, with the exception of
modified AI - settings to give everyone and even chance.

Great idea! I can't wait to start racing :)
As you mentioned, it will be necessary to change the racing class
afterwards - I've no idea how fast people will drive there. And
changing the car (before and after a season) would also be great,
since your driving abilities and style will change (perhaps).
