RC 2000 tyre help

I need some advice: how do you prevent tyres from getting worn out? Does
changing one of the suspension settings help? I tried the 3rd stage from the
1st (Vauxhall) rally twice. And twice I couldn't continue the rally because
of totally worn out tyres. Which tyres should I use anyway, with the 4th
stage (snow!) in mind?
And: how do you test a certain setup? On a track that's simple: just drive a
few laps. But how do you test you setup for a 30 minute stage? I know: there
aren't many setup options, but there also isn't very much info about the
track condition to which the available setup options apply (bumpy roads yes
or no, etc.) Or should I only 'make' a setup for every surface availabe?

Lot's of questions: I hope lots of answers will follow.

Jeroen

P.S. RC 2000 is an awesome sim :-)

The first thing to do is choose the right tyres. They normally have to be
suitable for 2 stages (to get you to the next service).
You're talking about Wales, stage 3 aren't you? Try using wet gravel tyres.
Snow tyres will wear out way too quick on gravel, and dry gravel ones really
aren't suitable for snow. If you still have problems, try easing off
slightly. You could be trying too hard. Stay smooth and ease off the
handbrake a bit.
Just my ideas, mind.

Mike.
