GTR2002: ghost car MOD possible?

Some of you may think it's unrealistic, but I'd love to see a ghost car in
GTR2002. It would make hotlapping more fun and endurable, IMO. Could
something like that be done in a MOD or a patch? I was thinking, if the
lap-data can be recorded for telemetry purposes, it may as well be used to
send a car around the track in realtime. If you could make that car
semi-transparent, and turn off the collision somehow, the rest would be a
piece of cake... right?

Any one else like to see a ghost car in GTR2002? (apart from the question if
it would be possible)

I'd like to see AI cars in multiplayer. If a couple of people want a race
it's a bit sparce!

I'd like to see *any* modern sim with ghost cars implemented like in
Ubisoft's POD2.

Up to 5 ghosts can be raced against.  What this means is you pick 5
ghosts with drivers of differing styles, but similar lap times.

What you learn in a lap following these ghosts about lines and braking
is potentially awesome.

I'm betting that Racer will be the first game to do this.  Come on
Ruud!!!!

Regards all,
istoff

I agree that having a ghost car around can help you to improve your driving,
that's my experience. It really pushes me to improve, because every corner
will be a small contest in itself. I currently have AI realism set to 1.0,
and AI driver agression to 100%, and I'm having a hard time keeping up with
the other cars in a race. That's a fun challenge right now, but it would be
nice to also have a ghost of my best lap in Test Day. Racing against 5
ghosts at the same time is a novel idea to me, but I wouldn't mind to give
it a try. Strictly for educational purposes of course!

I was also thinking how great it would be to have ghost cars to help improve
my lap times.
