F1RS crashing with no warning using Direct3D

by Moe Lefaiv » Sun, 13 Sep 1998 04:00:00

After being without my Monster 3d card for almost two months while it
rest in pieces. I couldn't wait any longer for Diamond to send me a new
one(lesson well learned). I was dying to play my copy of F1RS so badly that
I went out and purchased an ATI XPERT98 2d/3d video card. Nice card so far
except when playing F1RS now it seems to vanish back to Windows at no
particular time and with absolutely no warning. Runs fine except maybe a
bit choppier than my long lost Monster3dfx card, but hey I can play it
again, that is all that matters.
Any ideas or has anyone else had a similar problem to mine. BTW it seems
that ATI cards using Mach64 chipsets are a tad on the buggy side for most
games I have. I also had a major problem with Nascar2 until I download
Scitech's Driver Doctor and now I only have 29 days left on the trial or I
cough up $40.00

Thanks,
Moe
