UBIs F1- Played it at ECTS- my thoughts

Actually, i played the new Eidos game, both Pc & Playstation versions of F197,
and UBI Soft F1 at ECTS.

It's clear to me that UBI Soft was easily the best of them all- all the "new"
generation F1 games. I wouldn't call it a GP2 beater though- the Grahics are
good, unlike F197, the AI is not crippled- though was acting a little weird...

In short, it a good game, but it is let down by a poorly designed***pit view
mode, which looks more a la Indycar than F1, and without the pure driving feel
of Gp2.

the wet weather mode however, is excellent, and with the network play and
presumably Kali, this game could be a sure fire winner.

Hmmm

But it is no Gp2 to drive.

PR.

I found the AI in the UBIsoft demo to be about as good (meaning terrible)
as the AI in the CPR demo. In both cases the AI  takes you out & crashes
you.

Yeah well, seeing as how GP2 runs slow as molasses on
my Pent Pro 200, I can live with some crippled AI so
long as it runs at 30fps with 21 cars on the track like
the UbiF1 demo does. After all, most of us loved GP1 at 25fps
on our 486's even with its crippled AI :)
