FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

CARS96 FIRST OFFICIAL UPDATE, TEMPLATE PACKAGE RELEASED

PROVO, UTAH (Release date: Sunday, 11 February, 1996) -- Following
ESPN's unprecedented coverage of Speedweeks, the IWCCCARS Project has
released its first official version of CARS96.  Prerelease versions
have been made available, but thanks to television the cars have all
been updated to reflect their actual 1996 paint.  Included in the new
release are the #8 Circuit City Ford, the #87 Burger King Chevrolet,
and the #1 Hooters Pontiac, as well as major updates and tweaks to
almost all of the other cars.  We hope you enjoy the cars!

IWCCCARS has added a new .ZIP archive to its list of car sets, but
this one only contains four .PCX files.  The archive is called
TEMPLATE.ZIP, and it includes three blank cars (one Ford, one Chevy,
and one Pontiac) and a new SCICONB.PCX file for the Paintkit with
updated nose pieces for the 1996 cars.  The purpose of this set is to
allow sim racers access to a blank car with all the shading and
detailing done so that they can develop their own designs more
realistically.  We hope this adds to your enjoyment not only of NASCAR
but of the paintkit as well!  Thanks to team members Pat Campbell and
Denny Hoffman for the specs for these templates.

Plans for the IWCCCARS 'carsets' mailing list have been delayed,
thanks to a problem at our service provider with the new SmartList
mailing software.  The list will be activated once our network
administrators solve their problems.
