Ya know those movies at the start of the game?  With a full
install you can get through them in 3 seconds.  I've never lived
without the full install.  So I don't know where the problems
would be.

I just skip the movies by hitting ESC!

As to the last couple of points, and partially addressing the original Q; go
to f1racingsim.com and get the "intro.zip" patch which gives you tiny avi's to
replace the intro and movie.  It saves both time and HD space.

As to the original query: I went with the full install as I read that the menu
screens otherwise have very long load times.  And if you really want the
complete answer, I suggest just trying it out.  Try a smaller install, if it
doesn't satisfy you, go back to the full.
