... To become the registered member number 10.000 at the RSC forums... I
guess that makes us the biggest gathering place for simracers on the net ?
Hopefully we still manage to weigh quality over mere quantity :)
It's been less than 10 months since we started, and we are STILL not really
done with the website, but we 'll probably get there some day. Cya all at
100.000 ;)

PS: Also a hand to all our great friends, competitors, colleagues or
whatever one might call the admins of the other big simracing sites, you are
working wonders... we know how much effort and time is involved ;)

?

No.

Rec.autos.simulators was been read by more then that just in 1995, therefore
it can only exponantially bigger over the years as the number of people on
the Usenet has dramatically increased (even if the curb has been toned down
with the years).

1537   40868  141    59%   rec.autos.simulators

Those numbers in order are :

Rank of Usenet NG's
Estimated total number of people who read the group, worldwide.
Actual number of readers in sampled population
Propagation: how many sites receive this group at all

Now that the propagation is closer to 100%, it can only be more.

So there, when the number reaches 100,000 you can write here again.

You guys suckered people in by making everyone register to get the FIA
GT v3 mod. =)

Glad I did tho, it's fun smacking the kids around on the editing
groups.

LOL there goes my reputation for doing at least a little research before I
brag *doh*
Ian the only reason you have gotten so big is 'coz we constantly devote our
newssection to telling everyone how great the guys at SimBin are at
developing mod's ;)

Is absolutely true Mikkel. I think about 5,000 of our numbers are really
yours, but they got confused as to what site they were at (with all the
SimBin news) and registered with us :-)

> WOW that is a lot of simracing freaks !!

Yeah some people estimated that the Usenet readership has quadrupled since
1995 (that would be normal, just remember how sparse the net was back then),
so the number would be around 200,000 per month.  The Usenet is clearly
underrated :)

Back then they had surveyed usenet usage from certain servers, and made
statistics out of it.  They were lucky to get those numbers from the
companies, I guess.

One of those 11330 members is me..... but I hardly ever visit the simbin
forums.

I check back there occasionally though in the hope that one day you guys
will start to experiment with some other sims (*ahem* Racer? *ahem*)
