How about being able to design your own cars.  Options will include :

Engine (V12, V10, V8)
Nose (High nose, drop nose)
Deflectors
Type of steering wheel
Gears (6 or 7)
Size of fuel tank
Fuel pump with safety catches removed (just kidding)

All of which contribute to overall size and weight.

Just a thought.  Or maybe this is more a strategy type game rather than a racing
game.
