Tip to leave pit early

Tip to leave pit early

I'm not very sure how widely-known this is (or how many times someone has
posted this), but today while TRYING to finish up the race at Rockingham
(492 laps is a LOT), I was in the pits under yellow, and wanted to get out
before the pace car came around.  I repeatedly hit the trigger button on
my joystick (which is my accelerator), and next thing I know, after the
jack dropped on the right side of my car, I was on my way out.  My left
side tires had not yet been changed.  I'm not sure if it is just the enter
key or your "accelerator" that tells the pit crew to cut the pit stop
short, and let you go.  Anyone else experience this?

I have never experienced what you have described here, however it
is easy to select which tires get replaced before coming into the pits.
I have found a bug in the program, at least in version 1.1 that makes
pitting a huge advantage rather than a headache.  I race the races at
100% distance but I don't complete them in one night.  I usually try to
get into a comfortable lead and then save the game to be resumed when I
have more time to finish.  One particular evening I had saved the race
at a point just before I needed to pit for tires and fuel.  When I
resumed the race I recalled a previous incident in which I passed the
pace car before the green flag waved and the yellow was waved instead
and one more pace lap was run before the green came out.  Out of
curiousity I passed the pit car and went into the pits thinking the
yellow flag may be waved and the pace car would continue for one more
lap.  I figured I would be in last place but at least under a yellow
and with fresh tires and fuel.  The pace car pulled off and drove past
me in the pits while I was still on the jacks.  Then the green flag
waved and I thought OH SH*%!!!  I left the pits at 55 mph and when I
entered the track the rest of the cars were sitting single file waiting
for me to re-enter the race.  Quite polite of them wasn't it.  They let
me have a good head start, almost half a lap, and then went back to
racing as usual.  They didn't continue in single file at pace speed as
with the original bug in version 1.0.  I am interested to know if this
has been crorrected in version 1.2.  I haven't seen 1.2 yet but have
seen it mentioned in several posts to this group.  Any comments on what
v 1.2 changes would be appreciated.
