Just wondering if any of you have had a similar problem.
Loaded up the Demo, it worked fine.
Installed the full version, and the screen freezes at various points around
the track, it is only for half a second but is very annoying.
I have installed the latest Video and other Drivers but still the same.
I realise that not many here are fond of it but any help would be
apreciated.
I also understand that my hardware is just about Noah's PC from the Ark,
But the Demo worked fine.

P1.3G
512M RD Ram
WinXP
GeForceFX5200
Soundblaster Live

Same problems here, and it's only this game.
I've nailed my problem down to force-feedback on my USB Microsoft wheel. If
I turn FF off, it plays fine. Same if I use keys or a normal gamepad.
And, as you said, it ran perfectly just 2 weeks ago. Before I installed SP2
for XP. This is the only thing I can that might be screwing with the force
feedback implementation.
The only other change I've made was a new monitor. But I've tried all
resolutions and refresh rates but still the freezing problem won't go away
if I enable force feedback.

Win XP Home (SP2)
AMD 64 3.4
ATI 9800XT
1GB Dual Channel Kingston ram.
Audigy USB sound.
Microsoft USB FF Wheel/Pedals

I'm pretty sure this problem was thrashed out on the Codemasters forums. If
not it could be the old sound acceleration issue, try reducing sound
acceleration in DXDiag,

Andi.

I didn't see much on the Codemasters forum. Do you have a link ?
I can't see it being sound related as nothing at my end has changed and it
was fine before.

Thanks

Try this

http://community.codemasters.com/forum/search.php?s=&action=showresul...

Or do a search of the Problem Solving forum under TRD2.

Also you'd be surprised how many times I see sound settings discussed as the
cause of video freezes.

Cheers.
It does look like a force feedback+SP2 issue. No known work-a-round yet
apart from removing SP2 or disabling FF.

What wheel are you using, I was 'forced' to change from a Thrustmaster F1
wheel to a Logi Momo Racing in order to get TRD2 to 'feel' anywhere near
right. Why they can't get FF to feel like GPL or more recently RBR I just
don't know.

It's the Microsoft USB wheel with the red ***ized grips. It's not as good
as my old red momo, but it's a damn sight more reliable.
The feedback in Race Driver 2 is just about adequate, but still light years
away from the GPL feel.
RBR has great feedback..especially when you off-road for a bit or get your
wheels stuck in a rut !
