Put my recent re-introduction to the Nurburgring to good use and finally got
'round to driving Mexico in a "real" car again... -0.55s <g>

It's taken me a long time and a lot of effort to get to my current level in
GPL, but the satisfaction I get from racing now more than makes up for it.
My GPLRank is a reflection of the joy I derive from the sim. Thank you
Papyrus, thank you mod/util/track makers, thank you hosts and fellow racers.

Cheers,

Jan.

Jan is it with 5ms or you changed it to 20-21-22ms? (LWFF )
If I remember correctly, we two discased this.

No, my usual 4ms delay. I settled back to this value as it gave the best
results with N4 after I re-installed it.

We sort of discussed it, but, as there was a long delay before I tried your
settings on both games, I felt it was already too long ago to revive the
thread.

Anyhow, in N4 I get minor to severe spiking at any setting lower than 2ms
and over 7ms. In the 20-24ms range it's not too bad but I really begin to
sense the FF is out of tune with the car. If things do go astray (and they
do, often) there's this sort of "snowball" effect of late response, which
feeds back into the steering and only makes matters worse.

In GPL it doesn't seem to do much except for a sense of disjointed FF and
the aforementioned "snowball" effect when trying to correct a skid.

Like I said before, 20ms seems like a long time to me, but if you've got
positive control over your car using this setting it's right for you.

Weird - you guys have been around so long in RAS that I just assumed that
you were hotshoes. My next benchmark is -10. I'm only 0.34 seconds away,
which will make me roughly 80 seconds behind Greger.

Maybe I'll post a YANTA (Yet Another Negative Ten Announcement) on that
day...

Y'know, it seems like after every online GP, one of the drivers involved goes
negative within a week...

Then your strategy should be clear...
Keep arranging online GPs until it's your turn.
