Mystique troubles with GP2

Hi,

I have very big problems with my Matrox Mystique
card running GrandPrix 2.
Sometimes I have to reset 5 times before this simulator
starts.
As I can still exchange this card for another card of a
different make at the shop where I bought it 2 weeks
ago I would really appreciate to receive positive
comments and critics on very fast cards (like Creative
Labs 3D Blaster, Diamond Stealth 3D, Leadtek Winfast
3D S600, Matrox Millenium etc.) you use and recommend
for GrandPrix 2.

Thank you very much for your reactions

Hi, I have a Diamond Stealth 3D 2000 XL with 2 megs of memory on it and
it works very fine with Win 95 and GP2.

Hey i have already answered this but anyway here goes again
1. I send e-mail to Matrox and they told me that it should be a new bios
update coming soon which fixes the problem!
2. But they didn't read themselves the manuals of the board. Anyway do
this:
There are in the CD-ROM with the drivers the programs vbetsr.exe and
vbesetup.exe
run them before you run the game (or put them into the autoexec.bat) and
the problems are gone!! :-)

Well, I'm looking into the 3D accelerator PCI video cards as well. The
ATI 3D express seems to be the best bargain. It was 250$ I think
(Canadian) for a 2mb EDO ram, 3D accelerator chip (can't remember
exactly which chip it was) and it's PCI. Upgradable to 4mb, and it has
the TV2CPU built in, so you can connect a real TV to your cpu with
just a video cable.

This is a very common problem reported in this group. Apparently its a
mystique bios problem which should be eased by the release of a new
version of the bios. That is to say, so rumour has it. Anyway, have
you tried starting the game by typing 'gp2 nointro'. This seems to
work for most (but not all) people.
