I purchased a graphics program from a vendor there.  Was very happy with
the price and the service I got.  I know the wackos are running amok,
but it's a very useful service as designed.  nVidia's auction is a great
idea I think.  Helps pump up the e***ment for their new product which
I've heard is a pretty good graphics board.

>Maybe the company is 3dfx!  They get a first hand early look at the

Honestly, what good would it do so see a competitors board less than 4
months before they release it?

I mean, you can't copy it in time (not to mention being illegal <g>),
and you're better off spending the time working on your own board in
an effort to make it Go Fast.

Now, if 3dfx had got a hold of a prototype Nvidia board 6 months ago,
that would have given 3dfx a good mark to beat, but that's about it.

Just goes to show these online auction sites are full of crap.  I'd
never buy anything on such a site.

actually the two of them are legit auctions with the vid cards being put up
for auction by NVIDIA.
unfortunately some people thought that they were joke auctions such as the
"auctioning off the earth" or something like that.....and made some
outrageous bids.  Supposedly the money is going to charity.....  one thing
about it that it is getting them some free adverti***t.

i was reading that some guy has set up an auction for a card.......for
personal profit.....and they would get the card 'when available'.....

i see that this newsgroup doesnt hold the monopoly on stupidity on the
internet :)
