Picked up a copy of F1RS at EB today. It was 44.99. It runs almost
perfectly on my 200MMX and a 3Dfx card. Question though.....the readme file
says that it is version 1.06. Is this the latest version or do I need to
download a patch to upgrade it? It has 3Dfx capability built-in if that
helps any.

1.06 is definitely the newest. the latest patch available only brings it
up to 1.05.

Has anyone else been able to pick up F1RS at EB here in the U.S. ?
I just called my local EB here in Seattle and they say they don't
have it yet, and won't until March 1st.

Oh well, hope the wait is worth it.

Nope, not here at the C***te, NC EB either - and they say March 1st too.
Would order it from Ubisoft, but I've heard a few bad tales of order
problems from them (None here, but I think from some others ordering
Subculture? or something) - just be that much easier with a bad CD, etc., to
be able to run down to the mall and return it.

I know the DAY they'll get it in....the day they finally release the N2 3dfx
patch :-)

I talked to Ubisoft early this week and the US release was still slated for
March 16, 1998, after a few fixes to D3D have been implemented. Something
doesn't jive here, IMO. How can one guy have bought it when the company
hasn't released it yet, hmmm. Either way, I love my UK version. Best F1
sim to date, period.

I went to my local store in Glendale,CA, they said they had one copy and it
sold last night, although I don't think he knew what he was talking about...I
called all the other EB stores in the LA area, they all said "early March". Oh
well, only a couple more weeks...

EB here in Vancouver said they sold out, but I can reserve a copy. The
guy was full of shit because if it was just released in the U.S.
yesterday there is no way in hell they have had it in up here and sold
out already.

Hi Rhawn - Have you still got your Compuserve account? If so you may be
interested to know that we're planning on getting a F1RS offline league
going this season.

The NCAR season is about to start as well, so until TEN's stability
improves, why not make Olddoc happy and run some offline N2 races? <g>
