Yeah, easy enough to find games at Walmart from the big publishers like
EA.  But I've yet to see a Simbin title on their shelves, so I wouldn't
hold my breath waiting for GTL at Walmart.  Actually, I think the only
store I ever found to stock GTR was Best Buy, so I would expect them to
get GTL eventually (could be months from now...).  Of course, Walmart
is ALWAYS good for finding those $9.99 Deer Hunter games! :o)

Thanks, Byron.
End of November, eh? Too late for my birthday but in time for a
Christmas present to myself. :)

I'm in the USA also, this will be the 4th game I've purchased from
another country.

I ordered GTL from http://english.megastore.se/.

I bought UK version of GPL from the UK (software society).
I bought GTR last November from Germany (computeruniverse).
I bought Ford Racing 3 from UK (Empire Interactive).

Later, I bought US version of GPL from another player.
I bought the USA version of GTR a few months ago.

I bought this based on my experience with Ford Racing 2, which
was a pleasant suprise for a budget racing game. From the driver
view (hood or bumper cam), you can see body roll and yaw, as
well as suspension reaction. The cornering forces are exaggerated
unless Nascar type cars can pull 3g's on road courses.

Here's a video from FR2:

Ford Racing 3 added NOS, Blur Motion ala NFS Underground 1, and
then changed the physics so that lift throttle oversteer virtually
eliminated the need for braking. FR2's physics were more simulation
"like", braking points were critical for good lap times.

just tried amazon.de, and they claim it ships within 24 hours. Funny
though that we haven't seen more reports / posts here about gtl as it
seems to have been available in Germany since Oct. 5th? Anyone?

cheers, uwe

Just checked the local "Saturn" store, they had about 20 copies at 44
Euros.

Quite a number in other countries seem to be still awaiting delivery
from Sweden of Germany.

Plus the car and track unlocking seems so well locked down such that I
haven't seen any cheats as of yet (saved games can't simply be copied it
seems). So those with the game are busy running around mickey mouse
circuits before they can unlock the faster cars and longer tracks.

I understand there is the option to test drive most of the cars but
again it is around the shorter variants of the tracks.

Thsi might explain the lack of comment as people hold off with their
personal reviews until they have got to sample a bit more of it.

Cheers
Tony

Me too. Ordered on October 10th, and received my copy yesterday
(Netherlands). Not too bad.

Hi Tony,

thanks for the explanation. I was quite tempted to take GTL home
yesterday morning, but I've decided to wait and find out what other
people think of it as I wasn't too impressed by the demo.

If somebody feels like adding the news cars and tracks to GTLRank,
please post here so we can work something out.

Cheers, uwe
