Great game!  Beautiful texture mapped graphics.  Now onto the game ...

I've been mostly concentrating on the beginners track, but
that last turn has been causing me a headache.  My usual technique is
to break down to 175 and slide through the corner without hitting the
fence, this approach ensures that the speed holds at 175-180 through the
corner. and you don't have to shift down.  Anyone have a better technique?

I've managed 17:65 in solo timed laps.  The record is 17:48 so a better
cornering approach has to exist.

All other hints welcome.

Karl

I was getting 16.5?s by shifting down to 3rd at the last minute, and not
braking at all.  The downshift throws it into a perfect drift. Didn't
watch my speed through the corner though.

My personal best is a 15.87s and I achieved this when I was in
second position behind a friend (I ended up winning the race)....I think
this was due to the losing player (me) being given a speed advantage so that
the race is more even.  Does anyone know whether Daytona does this (I know
for a fact that Virtua Racer does!)??

I agree with Scott, start the corner wide, throw the car down into
3rd while applying a little bit of brake (just enough to put the end out)
and then back into 4th half on the exit of the corner....works perfectly
every time!

Also can anyone give me clues on tactics for the Expert track, I can
finish the first 2 tracks easily with between 6 to 11 seconds to spare.
However I have yet to finish the 3rd track!!

Yes Daytona uses speed advantage.  That's is why times below 16s are possible
but if you use "solo timed laps" (hold down the Start button when selecting
the transmission) and playing alone, times never go below 17s.

But I'll try this anyway, thanks!
