Today in Italy, at Bologna (Computer One), I bought GP2.
It's not a limited edition, and I found it with the manual translated in
italian.
They said they are the first retailer in Italy to have it (and I'm the
first owner in Italy...)
The game on my P100 work perfectly in VGA standard, where if I don't use
rear viewers and sky textures I can get 25 frame per second in Hockenheim
and other tracks.
The problem is the SVGA: it's really slow, and I can get 13 fps only
without a lot of textures!
Why don't I use it in VGA? Because the VGA graphics are not so good...
they are quite bad!
All the wonderful pictures we've seen are in SVGA, and you need a big
machine to run it.
The basic setup is very similar to the old F1GP for the wings, but you
can't use the old gear setup with GP2, 'cause now you've got an engine
slower (also if you take the Williams...), and you need to reduce all the
gears.
I selected the Italian as language, I don't know if it matters, but the
Ferrari is too much good in race!
Graphics in Monaco are simply fantastic: try it and love it.
Why don't you take a look to http://www.racesimcentral.net/ ? It's the home
page of the shop which can send you a copy (perhaps, I don't know how it
works with foreign countries).
