F1 -2000 Intro sound Question

by David Er » Sun, 30 Apr 2000 04:00:00

I know this is really petty but does anyone know how to get rid of the
moronic "EA Sports -Its in the game" sound in F1-2000?   For various reasons
I find this *extremely* annoying and would like to either get rid of it
completely or at least replace it with an engine/starter horn sound.  Is
there a file I can edit and how do I get to it? Maybe a switch in the
shortcut  starting the executable?

Many thanks to whoever can give me a useful lead here.

Oh it's no more petty than some of the other complaints I've
read here. I guess you could always return the game.

It's easy. Go into "monitor" then "miscellaneous", turn off "movies". This cuts
the introduction, including the part that is so annoying.

I tried your suggestion and it didn't work for me, still played the movie
regardless of setting. However your suggestion gave me the clue I needed
since I then went to the config.ini file in the F1-2000 folder and stuck a
semi colon in front of the line that told the executable where to find the
movies on the CD. Problem solved!

Thanks Bill, I'll dedicate my next win to you :)
